‘Beautiful’ release builds hype for Eminem’s new album
The fifth single from Detroit rapper Eminem’s new album “Relapse” hit number two on iTunes’ Top Songs chart today. The song, titled ‘Beautiful,’ was digitally released yesterday and is already being leaked onto the Web via sites like YouTube.
The nine-time Grammy winning artist is promoting the album, which goes on sale May 19, through a trio of appearances on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmell Live!” The first one is this Friday, and 200 laid-off Detroit-area autoworkers will accompany him on the trip to Los Angeles. Eminem is paying for their trip to watch the taping.
Detroit Free Press, May 12: “In all the media coverage Detroit is getting, everyone forgets about the people that have lost their jobs without getting big cash payouts after dedicating themselves to the auto industry,” Eminem told the Free Press through his publicist Monday night. “Jimmy Kimmel and I got to talking, and we wanted to remind everyone that there are real people affected by what’s going on in Detroit, and try to show some of them a good time while we’re at it.”
