Detroit’s Jack White joins Nashville music council
Detroit-born guitarist Jack White will soon be advising Nashville’s mayor on ways to keep the city’s music scene alive.
White will join country music stars Emmylou Harris, Kix Brooks and 43 others to form the Music Business Council in Nashville, where White now lives with his family.
Billboard.com, May 13: The panel is expected to advise on initiatives including the construction of a downtown amphitheater, the expansion of the CMA Music Festival, the creation of a new, non-country festival and the enhancement of music education.
With some suggesting Detroit’s music scene to be a good economic replacement for the dying auto industry, we wonder, hey Jack, whose side are you on?
